God’s Positioning System
Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 15:4
Since the first record of a boat large enough to carry goods for trade in 3500 BC, mankind has been determined to discover how to navigate the earth accurately and efficiently. Until the United States Defense Department launched the GPS Project in 1973, there was no flawless way to chart an accurate course. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based radionavigation system owned by the United States government and operated by the United States Space Force. It is one of the global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) that provides geolocation and time information to a GPS receiver anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites.
Since the beginning of time, however, people have had the benefit of being able to trust the navigation of their lives spiritually through God’s Positioning System. The success of this system is based on an unobstructed line of sight into the heart of God through a daily, personal relationship with Him. Though we may not understand His navigation, we can trust the absolute accuracy of His charted course for our lives as an heir to the glory and suffering of Christ. If we will allow ourselves to be “led (guided or governed) by the Spirit of God,” we will stand in position to God, not merely as subjects to a King, or servants to a Master, but as an heir to a Father.
